Rules on Posting

Chi — Wed, 22/10/2008 - 19:35
Please read this before posting for the first time!
Hi everyone,
The purpose of this site is to promote extra support for the growth in the Lord Jesus Christ, both individually and as a community inside the church. Therefore, the following rules have been made in order that the users can enjoy and use this site to its fullest extent, so please keep them in mind when posting at all times.
1. Respect each and every member
Jesus himself said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31).
Love God by loving your neighbours, and show your love to them by respecting their comments and posts, and not posting anything in your own posts/links or signatures which may offend others.
Also, as this site is different from most conventional forums because of the relative freedom and power that the end users (in this case, you) have, so please don't abuse the privileges and be a bad witness to those around you.
In practical terms, this means swearing, flaming, spamming, offensive posts and non-constructive wiki page edits should strictly be avoided. If such posts are found, it will be edited or deleted and the offender rebuked. Although we would rather not see this happen at all, we will ban unrepentant repeat offenders, so just please be considerate.
2. Respect the authorities and the community – Copyrights
In Romans 13:5-7, Paul says “Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”
In order to be a good witness to the community, please do not post copyrighted material without consent. It will not only just get the individual in trouble, but the whole church as well.
3. Usage of informal languages
Usage of informal languages (1337 and msn speech for example) are not prohibited, but there are restrictions that apply. Reference pages like wiki pages are formal posts, so please comply to restrict usage of informal languages for such posts.
The team from CrossConnect does not want to stop the enjoyment of the site, but would appreciate it if everyone respects the hard work people put in to keep this site functioning by following these rules.
This is the end of the rules section, if you are unsure about which sections to post in, please proceed to the Posting Content section.

Gary — Thu, 23/10/2008 - 11:21Great work Chi! I especially love the extra effort you put in to finding the verses.
Some more pointers which would be handy is the bit about banning unrepentant people, however we really dont want to do this.
Don't edit other peoples wiki's un-constructively. Viewed as an offense as well.
Cheers Chi, keep up the good work.
