Posting Contents:
Going to Create Content will allow you to start posting right away. But as you can see, there are many different types of posts that you can make.
This page will explain what the different types are and which ones apply to what you are posting.
There are basically only two things you need to learn before you can post. One is the type of post it is and the second is the category it will be placed in.
The type of content refers to if the post is text based, a picture, media, poll etc. Once you have decided what type of post you require. You will then have to select a category for example is your text an announcement, an article or a discussion? This will help later with people who are looking for your post and also this criteria is how your posts will be sorted and where it will be shown in the Content by Category navigation bar. For further information see a full description of the these two topics in the following topics otherwise, have fun posting!
In which category does my post belong in?
Announcement - When placed in this category, the post shows up on the home page for everyone in the group to see. Use this category if you need to convey something important to everyone.
Example: The group is starting half an hour earlier the following week, I would post here to make sure that everyone remembers to arrive on time.
Article - This category is for articles that you see elsewhere and wants to show it to everyone for comments here, or if you want to write an article yourself.
Example: The Sydney Morning Herald occasionally publishes some interesting articles like the LHC (Large Haldron Collider). The second half of the article talks about religions and the existence of God, and so, I would place that article under this category.
Discussion - This category is for opinions, views and comments on certain topics that is relevant.
Example: You had a very interesting discussion between your small group this week, you may not have enough time to conclude or obtain concrete answers, I would post that discussion up in this category so that others can also have input in the matter.
Map - This category is for posting maps.
Example: Location of where events will be held, the address of the guys place we're crashing, going to somewhere new, posting a map here will help heaps.
Reference - This category is for posts which are informative in nature.
Example: This post is classified as a reference since it informs the audience of a particular issue, in this case, about categories.
Video - All videos goes into this category.
Example: Captured an awesome video at church camp? This is the place to post it.
Cover Page - Cover pages are the equivalent to an Introduction/Title Page of a book. They're the first page you will see of a wiki.
Example: List of Cover Pages of all Wiki's
Posting Content types:
Wiki Pages - Wiki Pages are text based posts which allows everyone who has access to the post to be able to edit it.
Recommendations: Use this type of post when posting factual information, like say a recount of of an event.
Text - Text pages are similar to wiki pages in many ways but are not the same. Comments can still be made in relation to the post but the post itself can only be edited by yourself and not by everyone who has access to the post.
Recommendations: Anything with opinions and private views should be posted in here. For example, a testimony would be a type of text.
Event - An event page is like an alarm. Posted events can be found in the calendar and the function of this type of post is to inform its audience of something that is going on at a particular time.
Recommendations: Anything like an end of year party, or a movie in the holidays can be posted in the calendar so everyone can set aside that day for some fun.
Media - Media is the generalised specification of video and audio, and thus, those items should be posted under media. Please visit Create Media for details on how to post.
Recommendations: Awesome video like fitting 17 church buddies in one car? This is the place to go.
Picture - Unlike media, pictures are still frames of visual data. Uploading is different from that of media as you can upload the picture directly from your personal computer.
Recommendations: All those fun camp photos can be uploaded using this type.
Poll - This type of post is aimed at obtaining a consensus on a particular topic, or just to see what the varied opinions are on an issue. Readers can vote and their for an option and then can view the overall results to see trends.
Recommendations: A poll on "we should start CrossFire on time" will yield some very interesting results when compared to the actual starting time of CrossFire.
The greatest confusion is between texts and wiki's. They're both text based posts used for announcements, discussions, articles, references, talks, etc.
The question remains is why Wiki? Why would you want people to edit your post you might ask? Well its simple, take this page for instance. It was a combined effort by more than three people to create different parts of this page. Different people may have different things they feel necessary to add to this page. They may have discovered spelling errors which required fixing. Altogether, it allows content to be regularly updated and checked. You can edit this page right now!
So great things for Wiki's would be things like FAQ pages, Help Files, Crossfire Programs...
Wiki's also allow you to view all version of the wiki before and after it has been edited. If some ungodly person decides to sabotage the site, we can quickly just press "Revert Version" and it would go back to the same before it was destroyed.
Texts are more personal and may contain your personal experiences and thoughts that you might not want others to change. Most discussions should be posted as a story so the original question will not be modified by disagreeing parties.

Bugs/Glitches
Polls: if i log out and back in i can vote again, and rig polls that way...
Yeah that has something to do with the http authentication and logging. However admins have access to the poll results and from that we can judge who is the actual winner.
I, as a normal user, can rig it before any statistical trend can be found =P
Navigation Menus
those backtracking navigation menu.... they're faulty... and they go either into home or crossfire (which links to home), and rare occasion actually allows me to backtrack.
Yeah ignore them for now they're useless
Looks and all
Make sure we clean up the progressive update threads before launch so it looks all pretty! Since so much effort has been put in, lets make this look PROFESSIONAL!

Disclaimer to protect the church, Privacy to protect the individual. Other legal stuff to follow all the laws...
Note I have edited your page: As can every member of the group. Thus is the nature of Wiki. However older revisions are kept just in case someone decides to be evil, it is easily revertible. I have given you the rights to that function.
